It would be no exaggeration to say that Muslims live their entire lives in wait for that
blessed moment when Allah will grant them the opportunity to perform Umrah; when they will see the day
that brings them in sight of the Kaaba. The significance of performing Umrah in the holy month of Ramadan
is no secret. Needless to say, Umrah can be performed at any given time of the year but its reward in
the month of Ramadan is extraordinary. Umrah performed in this month holds a reward that is 70 times
that of any other month. In his own words, the Holy Prophet (saw) has made it clear.
"When the month of Ramadan arrives, go for Umrah, because Umrah in (that month) is equivalent (in reward)
to Hajj" – Sahih al Bukhari 1782
Escape from the four walls of today and think of greater things, seek the forgiveness of Allah and find
salvation, purify your soul and harvest the blessings of an unshakable belief and acts of virtue.
Saudi Arabian Airlines, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), and Airblue are the top three airlines offering direct flights to Jeddah from major airports in Pakistan. These airlines fly non-stop from Islamabad International Airport, Allama Iqbal International Airport, Jinnah International Airport, and Bacha Khan International Airport. King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah is the receiving airport for Umrah flights from Pakistan. Connecting flights are offered by reputable airlines such as Emirates, Oman Air, and Gulf Air.
An Umrah package basically includes flights and hotels. Visa processing, airport transfers,
and special in-flight requests will be accommodated as per the request of the traveller. If a pilgrim is
not familiar with the Umrah procedure, our agent will send an easy Umrah guide (as a PDF file)
immediately. The choice of Umrah package will dictate the itinerary (direct or indirect flight),
airline, and accommodation. The request for seat location will be entertained, if possible.
Depending on how you wish to split your stay (for instance, 6 days in Makkah and 4 in Madinah on a 10 day stay),
you can choose from a number of ready-made deals. We offer packages that take into consideration the fact that
you will split your stay in Makkah and Madinah and these packages are designed on the most popular stay patterns.
Accommodations are also booked accordingly. We offer three, four, and five-star accommodations in the vicinity of
Haram. You can leave your request for early or late check-in /check-out, extra bedding, baby cot etc. and we will
forward that request to your hotel. We have separate packages for couples and groups. Lodgings can also be had on
a quad-sharing basis.
For reaping the greatest rewards and blessings, Muslims prioritise the last ten days of Ramadan and wish to perform Umrah during this period. What an honour it is to assume the state of itikaaf inside the Haram and dedicate yourself wholeheartedly to the worship of Almighty Allah. While they are at it, pilgrims can experience the Night of Qadr and in turn, strengthen their faith and refresh their spirits. In view of its significance, Chahal Travels has stepped forward and designed special Ramadan Umrah Deals that specifically target those ten days – the last ashara.
In Makkah:
Whereas free sehr and aftaar can be had at the Haram, it is important to put in a request at your hotel in advance if
you wish to be served there. In a predominantly Muslim country almost all major restaurants offer sehr and aftaar meals.
Special Ramadan discounts on buffets are common. The Faisalabad Restaurant, among others in the Abraj al Bait Mall at the
Kingdom Clock Tower, offers quality Pakistani food. The Ibrahim Khaleel Road has many restaurants as well, of which Al
Baik Restaurant is a household name. Al Baik Restaurant is known for its comprehensive cuisine and large portion sizes.
In Madinah:
Pilgrims on a limited budget can avail free sehr and aftaar at Masjid e Nabwi as well. However, it is not allowed to bring
your food to the Mosque. Everybody gets the same meal. What is said of Makkah can be said again for Madinah; restaurants
offer sehr and aftaar deals. It is well to make your reservations in advance as restaurants are mostly jam-packed during
sehr and aftaar hours. Al Baik Restaurant in Madinah is just as good as its sister branch in Makkah. Arabesque Restaurant,
Abu Khalid Restaurant, and Broast Express and are other reputable names that offer reasonable prices.
Besides the prestigious Masjid al Haram and Masjid an Nabwi, there are other historical sites that hold significance for Muslims.
It is a common practice of pilgrims to pay a visit to these sites (or ziyarat) to get the full experience of Umrah.
Ziyarat in Makkah:
Only a 10-minute drive from the Haram is located Jannatul Mualla; the graveyard where sleeps the wife of the Holy Prophet (saw),
Hazrat Khadija (may Allah be pleased with her), and the Prophet's (saw) uncle, Hazrat Abu Talib. Here are also the graves of the
Prophet's (saw) grandfather (Abdul Muttalib) and great-grandfather (Abd Munaaf). Pilgrims pay their respects and move on to visit
Masjid e Jinn which is also close by.
The Cave of Hira and Thawr are also in Makkah. The former cave is where the Prophet (saw)
received the first revelation from Allah whereas the latter holds importance for having safeguarded the Holy Prophet (saw) and his
companion, Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Quraish of Makkah. Other important ziyarat include Masjid Aisha
and Jabal Rahmah. Jabal Rahmah is yet another significant landmark for its association with the last sermon of the Holy Prophet (saw).
Ziyarat in Madinah:
The first mosque of Islam, Masjid e Quba, was built to signify that Islam had been established in the city of Madinah. A simple
two-rakat nafal here is equal to the reward of Umrah. Besides its historical importance, Masjid e Quba is also representative of
Islamic architecture in general.
The early period of Islam was extremely challenging, and the Prophet (saw) had to defend Islam against the invading Quraish on
numerous occasions. The Battle of Uhud witnessed the martyrdom of many a companion of the Holy Prophet (saw) and marked major political
changes in the long run. Pilgrims visit the Graveyard of Martyrs, the Cave of Uhud, and the Mound of Archers.
